Detroit Diesel is one of the premier manufacturers of medium and high power engines. The company offers a complete line of commercial vehicle engines ranging from 190 to 560 horsepower.
- The entire range of products manufactured by the Detroit Diesel Corporation is divided into 3 broad categories. The first includes motors: R 1512 (three-cylinder, volume 1.50 liters), R 2016 (four-cylinder, volume 2 liters) and R 2516 (five-cylinder, volume 2.5 liters), with a capacity of 70, 111 and 140 hp. respectively.
- The second category of engines (R 425, R 531 and D 642) are in-line, 4-, 5- and 6-cylinder diesel engines with a working volume of 2.50; 3.10; 4.20 liters, with a capacity of 120-160 hp, at a speed of 4000 to 3000 min-1, respectively.
- The third category belongs to the category of V-shaped engines – VR 3024 and VR 4024. These are 6-cylinder 24-valve diesel engines with an angle between the cylinders – 60º.
APPENDIX A: CODES. The codelisted may not be used in all applications. A default value in the normal operating range is used by the ECU to provide for engine operation if a sensor failure is present.
